چکیده

• allow teleparticipation by remote users in tests performed in any of the three laboratories, • provide open access to consistently formatted data from tests in the three laboratories, • enable synchronous distributed tests between the three laboratories, maximising the size of structure that can be tested, and • allow the laboratories to link into the US NEES network, giving access to advanced facilities and systems that are the result of US government investment totalling over $200M.

Reconfiguring practice: the interdependence of experimental procedure and computing infrastructure in distributed earthquake engineering.

When transitioning local laboratory practices into distributed environments, the interdependent relationship between experimental procedure and the technologies used to execute experiments becomes highly visible and a focal point for system requirements. We present an analysis of ways in which this reciprocal relationship is reconfiguring laboratory practices in earthquake engineering as a new ...

Reference Data Models for Supporting the Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (nees)

NEES (the George E. Brown, Jr. Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation) is a national, networked resource for next-generation experimental earthquake engineering research and education in the United States. The goal of NEES is to support open access to and use of NEES’s facilities and data by the earthquake engineering community. The system infrastructure to support the NEES activities is...

GENERATION OF MULTIPLE SPECTRUM-COMPATIBLE ARTIFICIAL EARTHQUAKE ACCELEGRAMS WITH HARTLEY TRANSFORM AND RBF NEURAL NETWORK

The Hartley transform, a real-valued alternative to the complex Fourier transform, is presented as an efficient tool for the analysis and simulation of earthquake accelerograms. This paper is introduced a novel method based on discrete Hartley transform (DHT) and radial basis function (RBF) neural network for generation of artificial earthquake accelerograms from specific target spectrums. Acce...
